Following the lead of the literary success of Jerry’s and Abbie’s books, Random House will bring out a collection of writings by imprisoned John Sinclair this fall. Tentative title: Street Writings; Prison Writings. Also, Marquette Prison officials are trying to cut down on John’s incoming mail because they say it has “strained” the Mail office there. They have completely cut off his right to receive records….
Attention people that are ripping off Fifth Estates from Cobb’s Corner Bar: the owner doesn’t pay for them, we do. So please drop your 20 cents in the slot….All the liberals were campaigning hard to get good guy Rev. David Eberhard elected to the city council last year. Detroit News yellow journalist, John Peterson, whose recent articles have been mainly fantasized Weatherman scare stories, walked into police headquarters with a shopping bag that he said could have contained 25 sticks of dynamite. He left it in a 3rd Floor restroom near the office of Supt. John Nichols and split only to come back later and find it undiscovered. Peterson said he wanted to prove how vulnerable the building was. He’s right and the same thing is probably true of his paper’s city news room….

Last issue of Detroit Seen we carried a report of increased harassment of Warren-Forest residents by the Tactical Mobile Unit. Now a study by the Wayne County Board of Auditors confirms this. The study shows that the “elite” squad makes most of its arrests for traffic violations and that a full 33% of its other arrests are dismissed by police, indicating a pattern of “harassment” arrests. The study recommended that the TMU, along with the Precinct Support Unit and the scooter patrol, be abolished. Good idea, but how about the whole force?

A source close to the Five also said the band is going to Europe and will probably record much of their second Atlantic album there…

The event sponsored by the Christian Patriots of Warren included a march from Palmer Park with a-rousing turnout of fifty, and a rally of 300 consisting of hard-heads, neo-nazi Statecraft members in uniform, and Wallace supporters flying Confederate flags.
