Five people from out of state have been charged with “conspiracy to illegally break and enter,” and “conspiracy to commit malicious destruction” at the Midland offices of Dow Chemical, and the Feds are charging them with vandalizing a draft board in Marion County, Indiana. They’ll probably come up for trial in June.

Dr. Tim (Leary) has asked the Supreme Court to let him out of the slam so he can work on his appeal of his conviction for dope.

The Detroit News is taking a more active approach to fulfilling its roll as Pig Media in town. Their “news analysis” is becoming more and more right-wing, particularly involving Sen. Eastland’s bizarre charges that the brothers and sisters that went to Cuba went there to train for the revolution. Part of the News’ campaign was a story with the parents (read father) of one of the Brigade members. Shortly after the story appeared, the parents protested the obvious bias involved in the article, and the News’ actually saw lit to print their letter: buried on the Editorial Page, of course.

The 1967 state anti-riot law, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in jail, has been upheld by Judge Clarence A. Reid of Southfield in its first constitutional test. The lawyers of the defendants in the case (which stems from the Northland demonstrations in December of ’69) are expected to appeal the decision.

We’re getting to them: the chief of the Philadelphia district attorney’s narcotics and rackets division has quit, saying as he left that he just couldn’t “ask a judge to give a stiff sentence (2 to 5 years) for possessing one marijuana cigarette,” His conscience finally got to him.

Jane Hart, who is married to Michigan Senator Phil Hart, was found guilty of disorderly conduct charges resulting from her participating in “loud and unusual noises” (a Mass for peace) at the Pentagon last November. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 30 days in jail and a $50 fine. Jane says she doesn’t know yet if she’d pay the fine rather than go to jail.

A post office box used by the United Klans of Amerika (KKK) in Benton Harbor has been closed by postal authorities due to “improper use,” Evidently the redneck renting the box said it was being rented for a “church.”

Guess Mike couldn’t stand Russ having a limo and he riding around in just a regular old Caddy: Mr. Quatro has purchased a $12,000 four-wheeled limousine (house), and installed a freak chauffer for all that driving around the country he does.

Larry Benjamin, late of J.K.Arc Record Distributors, and promotional man for London Records, has left to join John Small & friends at WKNR, where his capacity will be (what else?) a promo man. We think its very unfair to give such a nice person such a difficult task.

Tricky Dick Nixon recently bought a shark (yep, shark) to keep the nasty little fishes away from his toes while swimming at the Florida White House (I sure hope that shark is (ahem) well trained!). While that little necessary expense cost $625, it’s chicken-feed compared to the $9,250 that was spent during his Inhoguration to keep the pigeons away. The special pigeon spray operates by producing a burning sensation to discourage roosting.

Prison officials won’t let Brother John Sinclair receive the latest MC5 album.

And now, for all of you who waded all the way thru all these gems of information, we have the killer news of the day for you. In Detroit, your very town, on June 15 of this year, at Cobo Hall, for $100, you, your very own warm body, will be able to see the eighth wonder of the modern world: Spiro Agnew!! Get your tickets from your local Republican.
