On Third between W. Warren and Prentis there is a place where you can get an assortment of household goods without having to pay or rip-off.
It’s called the Open City Free Store and its purpose is to provide free clothes, furniture, toys, etc., for the people of the community that can’t afford giving their money to Hudson’s, Ward’s or any of the other profit oriented pigs.
The Free Store also serves the people by recycling needed used goods back into the community as an answer to wasteful over-production of new products.
The goods in the store are donated by people in the community. The store is run by volunteers and only requires that someone be there when its open. It’s open almost every day except Tuesday and Sunday between 1 and 7 pm.
The Free Store needs baby goods and toys and any other things that you can donate. If necessary the Free Store will make pick-ups.
If you have some time or goods to donate to the store call 831-2770 for further information or come by 4511 Third.
