Fifth Estate # 30, May 15-31, 1967

A Human Be-In in the Flint area will happen on Sunday, May 21, from 10 a.m. until dusk at the Byram Lake park outside of Linden, Michigan. Organized by Trans-Love Energies of Flint, the Be-In will take place in a 60-acre park area 20 miles from Flint and will last all day, with music, fun, food, bells, and banners.

Detroiters who want to get to the Be-In can take the John Lodge expressway (I-96) to the US-23 Flint exit just short of Brighton. Take US-23 north to Silver Lake Road, and turn right into the city of Linden. Turn left at the only traffic light in town and go out one mile to Byram Lake–the Be-In will be happening on the left side of the road.

Billy C. and the Sunshine will be playing the blues there, as well as other Flint and Detroit bands, possibly including the MC-5. Kelly Martinsen and Bob Cameron, Flint Trans-Lovers will provide two huge whole hogs for roasting, and celebrators are urged to bring food to share. No alcoholic beverages will be permitted.

Those in Detroit who plan to attend and will have room in their cars for more people are asked to stop by the Detroit Trans-Love office, 4857 John Lodge, and pick up people who need rides. Cars will be leaving here starting at 9 a.m.
